NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Crossroads United Methodist Church, Wood County)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of United Methodist Church will, on or after November 17, 2023 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to Trustees of Crossroads Church all of their right, title and interest in and to those certain lot or parcel of real estate situate, lying and being in Union District, Wood County, West Virginia, described as follows:
Being all of Tract No. 12 of Port View Farms No. 3 as surveyed by J. E. Anderson, County Surveyor, in June 1945, a plat of which is of record in the Office of the Clerk of the County Court of Wood County, West Virginia, in Plat Book No. 7, at Page 60, containing thirty-five and eight-tenths (35.8) acres, more or less, and which tract of land fronts seven hundred fifty two (752) feet on the southerly side of Old St. Marys Pike, the westerly line of said tract of land runs back S. 6 degrees W. two thousand five hundred seventy-eight (2,578) feet to a pipe, and the easterly line of said tract runs back S. 6 degrees W. three thousand ninety-one (3,091) feet to a pipe; the southerly line of said tract land is five hundred fifty (550) feet in length.
And being the same property conveyed to Trustees of Crossroads Methodist Church from Howard C. Brown etux by Deed dated April 30, 1956 Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia in Deed Book 398, at Page 318, reference to which is hereby made.
Said Crossroads United Methodist Church was declared closed effective on September 13, 2023 by a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
