NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE OF
UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Fairview United
Methodist Church)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after January 12, 2024 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to the Trustees of Fairview Church all of their right, title and interest in and to those certain lots or parcels of real estate situate, lying and being in Lubeck District, Wood County, West Virginia, described as follows:
PARCEL ONE
BEGINNING at a stone on the north side of the Parkersburg and Belleville Road. and in a line of David Sams and William Wagoner thence with said Sams and Wagoner line N. 26 ½ E. 17 poles to a stone in said line; thence S. 63 E. 8 poles to a stone; thence S. 26 ½ W. 13 poles to a stone on the north side of the Parkersburg and Belleville Road aforesaid thence with said road N. 87 ½ W. 8 poles and 24 links to the place of beginning, containing 120 perches.
And being the same property conveyed to Trustees of Fairview Methodist Episcopal Church, South from Trustees of the Fairview United Brethren Church by Deed dated August 27, 1921 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia in Deed Book 179, at Page 416, reference to which is hereby made.
PARCEL TWO
BEING all of Lot Number Seven (7) as shown on the Plat of Fairview Acres of record in the Office of the Clerk of the County Court of Wood County, West Virginia, in Plat Book No. 11, at page 73, to which said plat reference is hereby made and had for a more particular description of said Lot by metes and bounds.
And being the same property conveyed to Trustees of Fairview Methodist Church from Clyde E. Morlan etux, Clyde J. Morlan etux, and W. M. Hubbard etux, by Deed dated November 5, 1960 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 449, at Page 27, reference to which is hereby made.
Said Fairview United Methodist Church was declared closed effective on October 26, 2023 by a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
