TCMS GYM Painting Job Specifications
Schedule TCMS walkthrough prior to bid opening – Tyler Consolidated Middle/High School.
The bid opening is scheduled for January 31, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. – Tyler Consolidated Middle/High School.
The painting project must be completed prior to June 30, 2024.
This is not a bonded project.
Prevailing wage is not a requirement.
All permits and fees are the responsibility of the vendor.
Provide one price for the ceilings, walls, and framework.
No Tyler County lifts may be utilized in completion of this project.
All floors must be covered to eliminate spillage, overspray and/or other damage.
All floors, especially the gym floors must be protected from lifts, scaffolding, ladders and/or any other equipment.
Surface Preparation: All surface areas are to be thoroughly cleaned and free of all foreign materials.
Primer Application: Application of high-quality primer suitable for concrete and metal surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
Painting:
Exposed structural ceiling and back wall in mezzanine: low-VOC dryfall/acrylic
Walls: Sherwin Williams Pro Mar 200 Semi-Gloss
Metal Doors/Frames: Sherwin Williams Direct to Metal Acrylic Enamel Semi-Gloss
Air returns mounted to the walls are to be painted the same color as the walls.
The gymnasium wall mats are to be masked off, protected, and painted around.
Roof support structures are to be painted along with all backboards supports.
Miscellaneous caulking, cracks and holes must be filled.
Door and window frames are to be painted a contrasting color.
Sprinkler heads are to be protected. SPRINKLER HEADS ARE NOT TO BE PAINTED. All sprinkler heads damaged (painted) during this project are to be replaced at the vendor’s expense. This will be determined by the West Virginia Fire Marshal’s office.
All paint and materials are to be supplied by the vendor.
Paint Color Selection: School will select the colors – Sherwin Williams has the colors in their database.

All sealed bids are to be submitted at the vendor’s expense.
Bidders must submit their bids and/or proposals prior to the date and time of the bid opening in the format prescribed by the Tyler County Board of Education. Substitutions for the prescribed format are acceptable only if the substituted terms, conditions, and/or provisions have been approved in advance by Tyler County Board of Education.
Tyler County Board of Education may reject any or all bids and solicit new bids on the project.
