Town of Coalton
Water System Monitoring Reporting Requirements not met.

Our water system violated a state drink water requirement. Even though these were not emergencies, you as a customer have a right to know what happened and what we did to correct the situation.

1) Significant deficiencies with the Treatment plant equipment and Chain Link fence at Water Tank. (March 2020)

Repairs to valves and pumps were completed. Monies were secured to replace the entire water system. The new construction and upgrades will correct all deficiencies.

2) Failure to monitor/samples for routine organic/inorganic compounds and monthly Coliform and Chlorine Reports. (2022 and 2023)

Appropriate samples were taken, however unforeseen situations with laboratory resulted in a loss of test results. Samples are being taken to different Laboratory and we are current with all sampling and reporting requirements.

Detailed reports of these deficiencies will be mailed to each customer and posted at the Town Post Office. For more information about these deficiencies, please contact Mayor Jim Rossi at PO Box 189, Coalton WV 26257 (304) 546-6477.
