NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY (Duling United Methodist Church) Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after August 5, 2025 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to the Trustees of Duling Community Church, all of their right, title and interest in and to those certain lots or parcels of real estate situate in New Creek District, Mineral County, West Virginia, to-wit: PARCEL ONE BEGINNING at a white oak by a small drain and a line of School House Lot No. 3. In New Creek Township, thence N. 64º W. 6 4/6 poles to a rock, thence W. 28º E. 11 poles to a stone, thence 52 1/2 º East 14 poles to a Sugar Tree, thence S. 67º West 11 poles to the beginning, containing one acre, more or less, it being the same lot of land on which the New Creek Meeting House is (known as the Duling Church). And being the same property conveyed from Jacob and Nancy Kenebushers to Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church by Deed dated the 8th day of October, 1869 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Mineral County, West Virginia in Deed Book ____, at Page 410, reference to which is hereby made. PARCEL TWO BEGINNING for the same at the end of 12 poles on the third line of the said Church lot thence N. 77 E. ____ poles to a stake, thence N. ____º W. 8 poles to another stake, thence S. 01º W. 20 poles and 7 links to a set stone, the end of the second line of said Church Lot, thence S. 2/5 E. 12 poles to the beginning, containing one hundred and forty eight and one half perches, more or less. And being the same property conveyed from Dan W. Eagle and Annie Eagle to Trustees of Duling Methodist Episcopal Church by Deed dated January 17, 1900 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 21, at Page 642, reference to which is hereby made. Said Duling United Methodist Church was declared closed effective on September 30, 2024 by a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
