REQUEST FOR BIDS FIRE EXTINGUISHER INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE, KITCHEN HOOD EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM INSPECTIONS, AND ROLLING WINDOW AND GATE INSPECTIONS The Jackson County Board of Education will accept bids for the 2026-2027 school year to inspect and service approximately 400 fire extinguishers (schools, administrative buildings and buses), 13 hood extinguishing systems (school kitchens), and other related inspections. Those interested in furnishing this service should request a bid sheet from Tim Brown, Assistant Superintendent at (304) 372-7305. Quotes must be received by: 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 29, 2026. All quotes submitted should be addressed to the Jackson County Board of Education; Attention: Tim Brown, Assistant Superintendent, P.O. Box 770, Ripley, WV 25271. The envelope containing the quotation should be marked, “Fire Extinguisher Quote.” The Board of Education will not be responsible for any unmarked envelope opened before that date. You may also fax your quote to the attention of Tim Brown at (304) 372-7312. Proposals will be opened at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 in the Jackson County Board of Education board room located at 1 School Street; Ripley, WV 25271. A West Virginia Contractor’s License will be required and a copy of such should be submitted with your quotation. The successful bidder shall also furnish proof of coverage of Commercial General Liability Insurance prior to issuance of a contract. The minimum amount of insurance coverage required is $1,000,000. Workers’ Compensation compliance is required with all rules and regulations of the West Virginia Compensation Commission. The Jackson County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and/or all quotations, waive all formalities in the quoting process, and/or make such selections from quotations that appear to be in the best interest of the Board.
