INVITATION TO BID Sealed bids for exterior clocktower painting work at the Jackson County Courthouse building in Ripley, WV, will be received in the office of the Jackson County Commission at the Jackson County Courthouse, 100 North Court Street, Ripley, West Virginia, until Wednesday April 15, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. All complete bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Commission Meeting at that time. All Bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Architect. Prime bidders interested in submitting bids shall request bidding documents by emailing Marlene Wentz at [email protected]. Contractors shall print copies at their own expense. A certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total Bid, or a satisfactory Bid Bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the state of West Virginia in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid must be submitted with each Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a contract and provide a Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and a Maintenance Bond for 100% of the contract award. All Prime Contractors and Subcontractors shall be licensed in compliance with SB409 (WV Contractor’s Licensing Act). All General Contractors shall provide a copy of their WV Contractor’s license and include their license number in the space provided on the Bid Form. See supplemental instructions to bidders for more information. A Mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 2:30pm in the Commission Meeting Room. Bidders are required to attend the Pre-Bid meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions, and other relevant information. After the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids, no Bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days.
