PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF KEYSER, WEST VIRGINIA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND FINAL VOTE ON REVENUE ORDINANCE Notice is hereby given pursuant to W. Va. Code 8-11-4 that the City Council of the City of Keyser, West Virginia, will hold a public hearing, second reading, and final vote on adoption of a proposed ordinance the principal object of which is the raising of municipal revenue. General title: An ordinance adopting a one percent (1%) municipal consumers sales and service tax and municipal use tax; reducing certain Business and Occupation Tax rates pursuant to the City’s approved Municipal Home Rule authority; providing for State Tax Commissioner administration; and establishing delayed operative dates for the tax and rate reductions. The proposed ordinance would impose a 1% municipal sales and use tax, to be administered by the West Virginia State Tax Commissioner, and would reduce certain City B&O tax rates. The municipal sales and use tax is intended to become operative January 1, 2027, with the corresponding B&O reductions becoming operative after December 31, 2026, subject to implementation by the State Tax Commissioner. The public hearing and final vote will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Keyser City Hall, 111 North Davis Street, Keyser, West Virginia 26726. A copy of the proposed ordinance may be inspected at Keyser City Hall during regular business hours. Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.
