NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Wood County Civil Service Commission will conduct an Entrance Test for Deputy Sheriff on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The physical agility test will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. at Jackson Middle School, 1601 34th Street, Vienna, WV. The applicants that pass the physical agility test will then take the written portion, which will be conducted the same day, at the Wood County Courthouse, 1 Court Square, Suite 307, Parkersburg, WV at 11:00 a.m.
Applications may be obtained from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, 401 2nd Street, Suite 11, Parkersburg, WV, or downloaded from woodcountywv.com (Sheriff’s Office).
Applications must be turned in before Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
Physical Agility Requirements:
1. 1.5 mile run to be completed in less than 14 minutes 36 seconds
2. 28 sit-ups in 1 minute
3. 18 push-ups in 1 minute
