NOTICE TO POSSIBLE CLAIMANTS OF TWO THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED THREE DOLLARS ($2,703.00) IN UNITED STATES
CURRENCY SEIZED BY SENIOR PATROLMAN D.T. SAYRE OF THE CITY OF ELKINS MUNICIPAL POLICE DEPARTMENT ON
NOVEMBER 30, 2019.

On November 30, 2019, Senior Patrolman D.T. Sayre of the City of Elkins Municipal Police Department seized $2,703.00 in United States currency which was found in a residence at 119 Guy Street, Elkins, West Virginia, which was occupied by Shaundra Thompson, Melissa Slayton, and Jesse Tolson.

The Petitioners believe that the said $2,703.00 in United States currency is subject to seizure and forfeiture, pursuant to the West Virginia Contraband Forfeiture Act (W. Va. Code sections 60A-7-703 and 704), and that said $2,703.00 was used to facilitate the sale, receipt, possession, manufacturing, possession with intent to deliver, and/or delivery of controlled substances in violation of Chapter 60A of the Code of West Virginia.

Petitioners seek an Order from the Circuit Court of Randolph County, West Virginia that the said $2,703.00 in United States Currency be forfeited to the State of West Virginia and the City of Elkins Municipal Police Department and ownership of said property be vested in the State of West Virginia and the City of Elkins Municipal Police Department; that, thereafter, it be disposed of according to law.

To any claimant of the within described property: You have the right to file an answer to this petition setting forth your title in, and right to possession of, the property within 30 days of the service hereof. If you fail to file an answer, a final order forfeiting the property to the State will be entered, and such order is not subject to appeal

Any claimant to the above referenced property has a right to file a claim on or before March 13, 2020. Any claim must clearly state the identity of the claimant and an address where legal process can be served upon them and must be filed with the Circuit Clerk of Randolph County, West Virginia.
