PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE

RELATING TO SEWER RATES, FEES AND CHARGES

OF THE CITY OF VIENNA

 

Notice is hereby given, that, on the 8th day of January, 2015, the City Council of the City of Vienna caused to be read an Ordinance proposing revisions to its current sewer tariff to include a security deposit provision and increasing its disconnect/reconnect/administrative fee from $20.00 to $25.00. The proposed Ordinance is titled:

 

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING SEWERAGE AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL SERVICE RATES, FEES, AND CHARGES OF THE

CITY OF VIENNA

 

The City’s current sewer usage rates set forth in its current Sewer Tariff No. 5 will remain the same. Original Sheet No. 8 (Phase II) of Sewer Tariff No. 5 containing Schedule I shall be revised to include the following provision:

 

SECURITY DEPOSIT

All new applicants for residential or other sewer service may be required to deposit (i) a minimum of fifty dollars ($50.00) or (ii) two-twelfths (2/12) of the annual estimated charge for sewer service, whichever is greater.

 

All new applicants for residential or other combined water and sewer service may be required to deposit (i) a minimum of one hundred dollars ($100.00), or (ii) two-twelfths (2/12) of the annual estimated charge for each service, whichever is greater.

 

Further, the Water Disconnect-Reconnect-Administrative Fees provision contained on Original Sheet No. 9 (Phase II) of Sewer Tariff No. 5 shall be amended to read:

 

WATER DISCONNECT-RECONNECT- ADMINISTRATIVE FEES

Whenever water service has been disconnected for non-payment of sewer bills, a disconnection fee of $25.00 shall be charged; or in the event the delinquent sewer bill is collected in the field, an administrative fee of $25.00 shall be charged. Whenever water service which has previously been disconnected or otherwise withheld for non-payment of a sewer bill, is reconnected, a reconnection fee of $25.00 shall be charged.

 

The final vote on adoption of said proposed Ordinance will be open to the public and will be held at Council Chambers, City Building, 609 29th Street, Vienna, West Virginia, on the 22nd day of January, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. Interested parties may appear and be heard at such time with respect to the passage of the proposed Ordinance. Copies of the proposed Ordinance are available at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Vienna, West Virginia.
