A Public Hearing for the Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Council Chambers, Weirton City Building, 4:30 P.M. The purpose of this regular meeting is to review the following applications:
a)Tonya Losh from Enterprise, 3609 Pennsylvania Avenue, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which requires that the aggregate area for all signs is be limited to one (1) square foot per one (1) lineal foot of store frontage in a C1 district for a multi-occupant building. The proposed wall sign to be placed is 20 square feet. The maximum allowable aggregate area for the store frontage is 6 square feet. (Tax Map W44F, Parcel 0199).
b)Britany Connon, 3393 Main Street, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which has a maximum amount of wall signs permitted in a C3 district for multi occupant is one (1) per business. The occupant would like to put two (2) wall signs on the front of building facing Main Street (Tax Map W42S, Parcel 0006).
c)Britany Connon, 3393 Main Street, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which requires that the aggregate area for all signs is be limited to one (1) square foot per one (1) lineal foot of store frontage in a C3 district for a multi-occupant building. The first proposed wall sign to be placed is 36.72 square feet. The maximum allowable aggregate area for the store frontage is 26 square feet. (Tax Map W42S, Parcel 0006).
d)Britany Connon, 3393 Main Street, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which requires that the aggregate area for all signs is be limited to one (1) square foot per one (1) lineal foot of store frontage in a C3 district for a multi-occupant building. The second proposed wall sign to be placed is 46.08 square feet. The maximum allowable aggregate area for the store frontage is 26 square feet. (Tax Map W42S, Parcel 0006).
e)John Anderson, on behalf of BBR, is requesting a Conditional Use in a M2 District for a Commercial Automobile Driving School on 4224 Freedom Way Drive (Tax Map W2R, Parcel 0061). Trade / Technical Schools require Board approval.
f)Chris Lancaster, Corner of Brightway and Swearingen, requests a variance to permit 5 ft front setback along Swearingen Road in a R1 district. The City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Table 2 Development requires front setback of 20 ft. (Tax Map W2F, Parcel 0051).
g)Chris Lancaster, Corner of Brightway and Swearingen, requests a variance to permit 5 ft side setback in a R1 district. The City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Table 2 Development requires side setback of 15 ft. (Tax Map W2F, Parcel 0051).

Applicants must appear in person; all interested parties may appear in person or be represented by agent or attorneys or submit comments in writing giving reasons for either granting or denying this petition.
