PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE

RELATING TO WATER RATES, FEES AND CHARGES

OF THE CITY OF VIENNA

 

Notice is hereby given, that, on the 8th day of January, 2015, the City Council of the City of Vienna caused to be read an Ordinance proposing revisions to its current water tariff to include a security deposit provision and amending its current Service Reconnecting Charge provision. The proposed Ordinance is titled:

 

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING WATER RATES, FEES, AND CHARGES OF THE

CITY OF VIENNA

 

The City’s current water usage rates set forth in its current Water Tariff No. 7 will remain the same. Original Sheet No. 4 of Water Tariff No. 7 shall be revised to include the following provision:

 

SECURITY DEPOSIT

All new applicants for residential or other water service may be required to deposit (i) a minimum of fifty dollars ($50.00) or (ii) two-twelfths (2/12) of the annual estimated charge for water service, whichever is greater.

 

All new applicants for residential or other combined water and sewer service may be required to deposit (i) a minimum of one hundred dollars ($100.00), or (ii) two-twelfths (2/12) of the annual estimated charge for each service, whichever is greater.

 

Further, the Service Reconnecting Charge currently contained on Original Sheet No. 4 of Water Tariff No. 7 shall be amended to read:

 

WATER DISCONNECT-RECONNECT- ADMINISTRATIVE FEES

Whenever water service has been disconnected for non-payment of sewer bills, a disconnection fee of $25.00 shall be charged; or in the event the delinquent sewer bill is collected in the field, an administrative fee of $25.00 shall be charged. Whenever water service which has previously been disconnected or otherwise withheld for non-payment of a sewer bill, is reconnected, a reconnection fee of $25.00 shall be charged.

 

The final vote on adoption of said proposed Ordinance will be open to the public and will be held at Council Chambers, City Building, 609 29th Street, Vienna, West Virginia, on the 22nd day of January, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. Interested parties may appear and be heard at such time with respect to the passage of the proposed Ordinance. Copies of the proposed Ordinance are available at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Vienna, West Virginia.
