AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE
Notice of Application

Notice is given that Appalachian Aggregates, LLC has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, for a Modification to General Permit G40-C102 to install a portable crusher and portable screen to process stone at the Kelly Mountain Quarry near Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. The units may be used anywhere on the site. The latitude and longitude coordinates of the known sites are: 38.89360, and -79.76270.

The applicant estimates there will be a change in potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants: PM of 65.08 tons per year (tpy) of which 9.44 tpy is fugitive, PM10 of 29.24 tpy of which 2.95 tpy is fugitive, PM2.5 of 4.36 tpy of which 0.31 tpy is fugitive.

The facility will begin operation under the updated permit when the permit is issued on or about the 15th day of June 2021. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Written comments will also be received via email at DEPAirQualityPermitting@WV.gov.
