A Public Hearing for the Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled for Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in Weirton Room, Milsop Community Center, 4:30 P.M. The purpose of this regular meeting is to review the following applications:
A. Sacred Heart of Mary, 200 Preston Avenue, requests a variance from the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Table 2 Development Standards, which requires an accessory structure in an R1 district be located behind the rear wall of the principal structure. (Tax Map W44J, Parcel 0240, zoned R-1 Single Family Residential.)
B. Sacred Heart of Mary, 200 Preston Avenue, requests a variance to permit a forty (40) feet high bell tower. The City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Table 2 Development requires maximum height of fifteen (15) feet for an accessory structure. (Tax Map W44J, Parcel 0240, zoned R-1 Single Family Residential).
C. Phillip Kim is requesting a Conditional Use to operate a Bed and Breakfast at 3409 Orchard Street (Tax Map W42S, Parcel 0090, Zoned R-1 Single Family Residential).
D. Kensington Investment, 3901 Brightway, requests a variance from the Unified Development Ordinance Table 7 Article 18, to permit a 32 Square foot wall sign. (Tax Map W42R, Parcel 0402, zoned R-1 Single Family Residential).
E. Derek Vandyke, 3800 Brightway, requests a variance to permit 12 ft front setback along Euclid Avenue in a R1 district. The City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Table 2 Development requires front setback of 20 ft. (Tax Map W42R, Parcel 0408).
F. Brian Knight, 3578 Pennsylvania Avenue, requests a variance from the Unified Development Ordinance Table 8 Article 18, to permit a Seventy-two (72) Square foot wall sign. Per the UDO a single occupant building can only have 1 per street frontage. (Tax Map: W44F, Parcel: 0008, Zoned C-1 Highway Commercial).
G. SWE Production Company is requesting a Conditional Use for mineral extraction off of Park Drive (Tax Map 00W3, Parcel 0004, Zoned PDD Planned Development District).
Applicants must appear in person; all interested parties may appear in person or be represented by agent or attorneys or submit comments in writing giving reasons for either granting or denying this petition.
