Notice is hereby given that Mineral Wells Public Service District, a public utility, has on April 22, 2015, filed with the PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF WEST VIRGINIA, an application containing increased rates, tolls and charges for furnishing water service to 2,456 customers all in the Counties of Wood, Wirt and Jackson.


The proposed increased rates and charges will produce approximately $160,447 annually in additional revenue, an increase of 12.1{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}. The average monthly bill for the various classes of customers will be changed as follows:

The increases shown are based on averages of all customers in the indicated class. The requested rates and charges went into effect subject to refund on the date the utility filed its rate application and are subject to change (increases or decreases) by the Public Service Commission in its review of this filing. Each class may receive an increase or decrease greater or less than stated here. Individual customers may receive increases that are greater or less than average. If the Commission approves lower rates, the utility will be required to make customer refunds consistent with W.Va. Code Œ24-2-4a and Commission order. (If a hearing is scheduled, notice will be given of the time and place of hearing.)


Anyone desiring to protest or intervene should file a written protest or notice of intervention prior to May 22, 2015 unless otherwise modified by Commission order. Failure to timely protest or intervene can affect your rights to protest any rate increases and to participate in future proceedings. All protests or requests to intervene should briefly state the reason for the protest or intervention. Requests to intervene must comply with the Commission’s rule on intervention set forth in the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure.
