SECTION 108 LOAN GUARANTEE ASSISTANCE
PRESUBMISSION
Notice is hereby given by the City of Parkersburg to review and provide comments of the 16th & Covert Street fire station project-Section 108 Loan Application. In accordance with the federal regulations at 24 CFR 570.704, the City of Parkersburg is required to publish community-wide its proposed application so as to afford affected citizens an opportunity to examine the applicationás contents and to provide comments on the proposed application.
The City of Parkersburg intends to build a new fire station at 16th and Covert Street. To finance this public facility improvement project, the City is applying for a Section 108 Loan from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development in the amount of $1,500,000. The loan will be repaid using Community Development Block Grant Program Funds and the City’s General Fund.
The Section 108 loans provide units of local government access to low-interest rate financing for eligible activities that meet a National Objective of the CDBG Program. In order to obtain the views of citizens, Parkersburg City Council will hold a Public Hearing on said application during a Special City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers (2nd Floor of the Municipal Building).
The application will also be on public display at the following location during normal business hours beginning on April 6, 2018. Additionally, a copy can be viewed online at the address below.

This information will be available for public review and comment for 15 days. Comments on the proposed application can be directed in writing to Ryan Barber, Development Projects Administrator, One Government Square Parkersburg, WV 26102 or emailed to: [email protected]. Comments should be received no later than 4:00pm on Friday, April 20, 2018. The City will consider any such comments and views received and, if deemed appropriate, will modify the proposed application.
