Driving Simulation Systems for Driver Education Programs

I. PURPOSE
Wyoming County Schools is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors to provide, deliver, install, train, and support two (2) driving simulation systems to enhance Driver Education instruction. One simulator will be installed at Wyoming East High School and one simulator will be installed at Westside High School.

II. PROJECT OVERVIEW
Wyoming County Schools seeks a turnkey driving simulation solution that provides realistic driver training experiences, curriculum-aligned instructional content, assessment capabilities, and instructor management tools. The simulator systems will supplement classroom instruction and provide students with opportunities to practice driving skills in a safe environment.

Ill. QUANTITY
One (1) driving simulator for Wyoming East High School and One (1) driving simulator for Westside High School.

IV. MINIMUM HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
Each simulator shall include:
Fully integrated driving simulator station.
Automotive-style seating position.
Steering wheel, accelerator pedal, and brake pedal.
Dedicated simulator enclosure or frame.
Curved high-definition display, minimum 49 inches.
Mobility features for relocation within a classroom setting.
High-performance computer capable of real-time simulation rendering.
Minimum 32 GB RAM.
Minimum 1 TB SSD storage.
Dedicated graphics processor suitable for simulation applications.
Headphones or headset.
All power cables, display cables, and accessories necessary for operation.
Compact footprint suitable for classroom deployment.

V. SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
The proposed solution shall include:
Minimum fourteen (14) instructional driving lessons.
Pre-assessment and post-assessment capabilities.
Free-drive or practice mode.
Unlimited student use.
Instructional modules addressing:
-Vehicle control
-Hazard recognition
-Visual scanning
-Blind spots and visibility
-Defensive driving
-Intersections
-Signaling and communication
-Following distance
-Space management
-Sharing the road
-Weather and road conditions
-Parking maneuvers including parallel parking
-Distracted driving
-Driver reaction time

VI. SIMULATION ENVIRONMENTS
The simulator shall provide a variety of virtual driving environments including:
Residential areas
Commercial districts
Urban/city settings
Rural roadways
Highways/freeways
Alternative driving environments
The preferred solution should include a large virtual driving area that provides realistic driving experiences.

VII. WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENTAL
CONDITIONS
The simulator shall support:
Clear weather
Rain
Thunderstorms
Snow
Fog
Nighttime driving
Instructors should have the ability to customize environmental conditions for instructional purposes.

VIII.REPORTING AND DATA MANAGEMENT
The proposed solution shall include instructor management and reporting capabilities including:
Unlimited student profiles
Student grouping by class
Lesson completion tracking
Assessment reporting
Detailed performance reports
Driving infraction tracking
Exporting of student performance data
Progress monitoring tools

IX. INSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES
Preferred features include:
Audio-guided virtual instructor
Built-in instructional content
Student progress tracking
Instructor controls
Parent or guardian access to training materials
Multimedia learning resources

X. INSTALLATION AND TRAINING
The awarded vendor shall provide:
Delivery to both high schools
Complete installation and setup
System testing and configuration
Initial instructor training
User manuals and training materials
Technical support contact information

XI. WARRANTY AND SUPPORT
Vendors shall provide:
Minimum one-year comprehensive warranty
Software updates during the warranty period
Technical support services
Description of extended warranty options
Response times for service requests

XII.VENDOR QUALIFICATIONS
Vendors shall provide:
Company background and experience
References from K-12 or higher education customers
Evidence of successful simulator implementations
Support and training capabilities
Proof of business registration and insurance

XV.RESERVATION OF RIGHTS
Wyoming County Schools reserves the right to:
Accept or reject any proposal
Waive minor irregularities
Request clarification or additional information
Negotiate with vendors
Award based on best value
Cancel the solicitation at any time
