NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE OPERATION OF OFF-ROAD RECREATIONAL VEHICLES ACROSS A PORTION OF VIRGINIA STATE SECONDARY ROUTE 783, ACME ROAD, IN TAZEWELL COUNTY, VIRGINIA

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, Virginia, will conduct a public hearing on November 7, 2019 at 6:30 PM, or as soon thereafter as may be practical, at the Tazewell County Administration Building, located at 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651, and hereby gives its intent to adopt An Ordinance to Authorize the Operation of Off-Road Recreational Vehicles Across a Portion of Virginia State Secondary Route 783, Acme Road in Tazewell County, Virginia, pursuant to Sections 46.2-800.2 and 46.2-915.1 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended.

The proposed Ordinance would permit off-road recreational vehicles to drive upon a portion of Virginia State Secondary Route 783, also known as Acme Road, between its intersections with property owned by Marathon Realty Corporation (Tax Map No. 104A3A 0028) and Emerald Drive. Such off-road recreational vehicles shall be permitted to travel upon said portion of Virginia State Secondary Route 783 in addition to all other requirements pursuant to Sections 46.2-800.2 and 46.2-915.1 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended.

All persons wishing to comment on the proposed adoption of the Ordinance are hereby invited to attend and state their views thereon. A notification of five (5) working days before the meeting will enable the County Administrator’s Office to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting.
