SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE

SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE A special meeting of the Mount Hope City Council will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Court Room located at 609 Main Street, Mount Hope, WV 25880. This meeting is being held to have the first reading of a replacement of the Ordinance titled IMPOSITION OF SPECIAL CHARGES, SECTION2 (b), OF THE FIRE AND POLICE PROTECTION SERVICE CHARGE will be Voided and replaced with a new Ordinance TITLED IMPOSITION OF FEES FOR FUNDING ACQUISITION, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF POLICE EQUIPMENT. When in effect a fifteen dollars ($15.00) fee shall be imposed on every Criminal and Traffic Citation in violation of any Criminal and Traffic Law of the Municipality, excluding violations of Municipal parking ordinances. This will also void the imposed twenty-four dollar ($24.00) police protection fee annually. This meeting is also being held to have the first reading of a new Ordinance titled REINSTATEMENT FEE – DRIVERS LICENSE. When in effect a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) fee shall be imposed upon any person whose driver’s license privilege to operate a motor vehicle in the state of West Virginia is reinstated after having been suspended for: (1) Failure to timely pay costs, fines, forfeitures or penalties imposed by the Municipal Court; (2) Default on a payment plan for such costs, fines, forfeitures or penalties; or (3) Failure to appear or otherwise respond in court when charged with a Municipal Violation (s), all as provided by the West Virginia State Code. Such fee is imposed to defer the costs to the City of Mount Hope associated with administrative expenses related to the suspension and reinstatement of driver’s license. This meeting is also being held to have the first reading of Ordinance amending ARTICLE XXXII SECTION 56 OF THE MOUNT HOPE CHARTER THE POLICE DEPARTMENT Chief of Police. When in effect prior to being employed by the City, the Chief of Police shall be a certified police officer in the State of West Virginia. This meeting will include an Executive Session to discuss current personnel issues. This meeting is also being held to include a Municipal (Budget) Levy Estimate workshop for the upcoming fiscal year 2015 – 2016. 2-10-TUE-1-RH; L 2568
