OFFICE OF ABANDONED MINE LANDS AND RECLAMATION

PUBLIC NOTICE

In accordance with the Abandoned Mine Lands and Reclamation Act, West Virginia Code Chapter 22, Article 2, the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Abandoned Mine Lands and Reclamation shall perform a reclamation project known as the Grassy Run AMD Treatment Facility Project located on the property of Penn Virginia Operating Company, LLC in Roaring Creek District, Randolph County, West Virginia. Said project shall include site preparation and relocation of two existing above ground storage tanks (ABST) containing caustic soda and the operation of an active water treatment facility on Grassy Run.

In accordance with West Virginia Code Chapter 22, Article 27, notice is hereby provided of this project and that it shall employ the Environmental Good Samaritan Act. Project plans and specifications are on file with the Department. Written objections may be filed with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Abandoned Mine Lands and Reclamation, 601 57th Street S.E., Charleston, WV 25304-2345.
