ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
STREET PAVING/ MILLING AND RESUREFACING PROJECT
The City of Bluefield, West Virginia will receive sealed proposals at the Office of the City Clerk, 200 Rogers Street, Bluefield WV 24701 until 4:00 P.M. local time Friday, September 13, 2019.
The Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. for the purpose of receiving bids on this date. On Monday, September 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 200 Rogers Street, Bluefield, West Virginia, the sealed bids will be opened and read aloud in Board Chambers.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
1. Resurfacing with asphalt the following streets: Burton Street and Marshall Street (From a joint on Reese Street to a joint on Pulaski Street).
2. Resurfacing with asphalt the following street: Bath Street (From a joint on Carroll Street to a joint on North Mercer Street).
3. Resurfacing with asphalt the following street: Greenbrier Street (From the Dead End of Greenbrier Street to a point on Greenbrier Street).
4. Resurfacing with asphalt the following street: A connecting road from Cypress Street to Juniper Street (From a joint at Juniper Street to a point on Cypress Street).
5. Milling and resurfacing with asphalt the following streets: Liberty Street and Reid Avenue (From a joint on Lebanon Street to a joint on Maryland Avenue).
6. Resurfacing with asphalt the following streets: Norma Lane, Lowe Street, Sylvia Lane (From a joint at Stadium Drive to a joint at Stadium Drive on Sylvia Lane).
7. Resurfacing with asphalt the following street: Hilltop Lane (From a point on Hilltop Lane to Castlewood).
8. Resurfacing with asphalt the following street: Castlewood Lane (From a joint on Heatherwood Road to a joint on Castlewood Lane at Heatherwood Road).
9. Milling and resurfacing with asphalt the following street: Heatherwood Road (From a point on Heatherwood Road to points on Heatherwood Road).
10. Resurfacing with asphalt the following street: Chapel Road (From a joint on Edgemont Drive to a joint at Grassy Branch).
NOTE: ALL STREETS AND ALLEYS MUST BE TACKED. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO THE DRAINAGE CULVERTS.
The City of Bluefield is seeking sealed bids for the paving and/or resurfacing of certain areas in Bluefield.

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from the City Engineer, 200 Rogers Street, Bluefield, West Virginia 24701 upon payment of the nonrefundable amount of $10.00 per set.
Contractors must be prequalified for this type of work by the West Virginia Department of Highways or the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The City of Bluefield reserves the right to waive any informality in the Bid and to reject any and all bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids with or without cause.
