PUBLIC NOTICE OF CHANGE IN RATES SUBJECT TO

REFUND

 

Central Boaz Public Service District

PSC Case No. 16-0190-PSD-42R

 

Notice is hereby given that the Central Boaz Public Service District, a public utility, has on February 10, 2016, filed with the PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF WEST VIRGINIA, an application containing a 3 Step change to rates, tolls and charges for furnishing sewer service to 486 customers all in Wood County, West Virginia.

 

The first step will be in effect for six months starting February 10, 2016, will increase rates and charges to produce in conjunction with the Step 2 rate decrease approximately $22,772 annually in additional revenue, an increase of 6.7{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}. The average monthly bill for the various classes of customers under the Step 1 rates will be changed as follows:

The second step will be in effect for forty-two months starting August 10, 2016, will decrease rates and charges to produce approximately $38,429 annually in reduced revenue, a decrease of 10.7{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} compared to the Step 1 rates. The average monthly bill for the various classes of customers under the Step 2 rates will be changed relative to the Step 1 rates as follows:

The third step will be in effect after February 10, 2020, will decrease rates and charges to produce approximately $4,740 annually in reduced revenue, a decrease of 1.48{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} compared to Step 2 rates. The average monthly bill for the various classes of customers under the Step 3 rates will be changed relative to the Step 2 rates as follows:

The changes shown are based on averages of all customers in the indicated class. The requested rates and charges went into effect subject to refund on the date the utility filed its rate application and are subject to change (increases or decreases) by the Public Service Commission in its review of this filing. Each class may receive an increase or decrease greater or less than stated here. Individual customers may receive increases that are greater or less than average. If the Commission approves lower rates, the utility will be required to make customer refunds consistent with W.Va. Code Œ24-2-4a and Commission order. (If a hearing is scheduled, notice will be given of the time and place of hearing.)

 

Anyone desiring to protest or intervene should file a written protest or notice of intervention prior to March 31, 2016 unless otherwise modified by Commission order. Failure to timely protest or intervene can affect your rights to protest any rate increases and to participate in future proceedings. All protests or requests to intervene should briefly state the reason for the protest or intervention. Requests to intervene must comply with the Commission’s rule on intervention set forth in the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. All protests and interventions should be addressed to Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, West Virginia 25323.

 

A complete copy of the proposed rates, as well as a representative of the public service district to provide information requested concerning it, is available to all customers, prospective customers, or their agents at any of the following offices of the public service district:
