Notice is hereby given that the City of Parkersburg, in accordance with Article 1705.08 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Parkersburg, West Virginia, claims a lien to secure the payment of the sum of Six Thousand Dollars and 00/100 (6,000.00), plus interest from date of lien, upon your interest in and to the herein described real property lying, situate and being in the City of Parkersburg, County of Wood, State of West Virginia, being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of the intersection of Latrobe and Twelfth Streets; thence northeasterly with the easterly line of Latrobe Street Ninety (90) feet to an alley; thence southeasterly with the line of said alley Forty eight and Fifty eight hundredths (45.58) feet to the line of Lot No. 11 of Stewart’s Second Addition; thence southwesterly with the common Lots Nos 10 and 11 of said Addition Ninety (90) feet to Twelfth Street, thence northwesterly with the line of Twelfth Street Forty-seven and Fifty-eight hundredths (47.58) feet to the place of beginning; being Lot No. 10 of Stewart Addition of record in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia, in Deed Book No. 62, at Page 314.
BEING the same property conveyed to Phillip H. Adams and Inez Adams jointly with survivorship, Philip Adams survived Inez Adams and thereafter died testate on 2/10/2004 devising the property to his wife Gwendolyn Adams, who is now deceased.
Such claim is made on the basis that the City of Parkersburg has caused to be demolished certain building(s) formerly located upon the above described real property.
The nature of the work performed upon the aforesaid buildings and upon the above described real property, pursuant to a contract for demolition awarded to Empire Builders Inc., under lawful bidding procedures, was the demolition by the aforesaid contractor on or around the 20th day of November, 2020. Said lien is claimed at the price and amount set forth hereinabove, plus interest from date of lien, as shown more fully in the invoice submitted by said contractor which is attached hereto as City Exhibit 1, and in the statement of various costs necessary and incidental, for such demolition which is attached hereto as City Exhibit 2, which may be viewed by contacting the City of Parkersburg.
