Notice is hereby given that the City of Parkersburg, in accordance with Article 1705.08 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Parkersburg, West Virginia, claims a lien to secure the payment of the sum of Six Thousand Dollars and 00/100 (6,000.00), plus interest from date of lien, upon your interest in and to the herein described real property lying, situate and being in the City of Parkersburg, County of Wood, State of West Virginia, being more particularly bounded and described as follows:

BEGINNING on the northerly side of Wood Street, 58 feet west of the northwest corner of Wood and Latrobe Streets; thence with the line of Wood Street in a westerly direction, 28 feet, more or less, to the corner of a lot formerly owned by Thomas B. Miller and J.W. Roberts; thence ar right angles to Wood Street running in a northerly direction parallel to Latrobe Street, 90 feet, more or less. to a stake, then running 90 feet, more or less, to a stake; thence running toward Latrobe Street and paralle; to Wood Street, 28 feet more or less, to a stake, then running 90 feet, more or less, to the place of beginning.

BEING the same property conveyed unto John W Brace II, by deed from Christopher P. Kyster, dated October 1, 1996, and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia, in the Deed Book 960, Page 843.

This conveyance is made subject to all exceptions, agreements, restrictions covenants, easments and right of way set forth in prior deed of record in the chain of title in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office.

Such claim is made on the basis that the City of Parkersburg has caused to be demolished certain building(s) formerly located upon the above described real property.

The nature of the work performed upon the aforesaid buildings and upon the above described real property, pursuant to a contract for demolition awarded to Empire Builders Inc., under lawful bidding procedures, was the demolition by the aforesaid contractor on or around the 29th day of October, 2019. Said lien is claimed at the price and amount set forth hereinabove, plus interest from date of lien, as shown more fully in the invoice submitted by said contractor which is attached hereto as City Exhibit 1, and in the statement of various costs necessary and incidental, for such demolition which is attached hereto as City Exhibit 2, which may be viewed by contacting the City of Parkersburg.
