Sealed Bids for the Sanitary Sewer Improvements, Wards Run Interceptor, Contract No. 1-2014, will be received by the Parkersburg Utility Board (PUB) at its office located at 125 19th Street; Parkersburg, West Virginia 26101 until 1:00 p.m. (local time), March 24, 2015, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Any Bids received after the above time and date will be returned unopened to the Bidder. No conditional Bids will be accepted.
The work covered by the Contract Documents includes the following:
Sanitary Sewer Improvements Wards Run Interceptor Contract No. 1-2014.
Work associated with this Contract generally includes 1,620 linear feet of 18ã (530 linear feet installed by bore & jack), 540 linear feet of 8ãgravity sewer replacements; 13 manholes; together with necessary appertaining work.

A pre-bid conference will be held at the Parkersburg Utility Board office located at 125 19th Street at 1:00 p.m. (local time) March 11, 2015. ATTENDANCE BY ALL BIDDERS IS MANDATORY.
Per the requirements of the Article 21-11-11 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a Bid on this project will be required to certify, indicate, and acknowledge that he/she has a Contractorás license from the State of West Virginia and meets all the qualifications required by the statutes of the State of West Virginia and the subdivision in which the Work is to be performed.
Per the requirements of the Article 21-1D-5 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a bid for a public improvement construction contract shall provide an affidavit of compliance that the Contractor has a written plan for a drug-free workplace policy. Failure to complete the Drug Free Workplace Conformance Affidavit Form shall result in disqualification of the Bid.
A cashiers check payable to âParkersburg Utility Board” or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company approved by Parkersburg Utility Board, in the amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, to guarantee the Bidderás entrance into a Contract, if given the award.
BIDDERS must comply with the prevailing wage rate requirements imposed for public improvements applicable to Wood County, West Virginia. Attention to the BIDDERS is called to the Instructions to Bidders, which are included in the Contract Documents. Successful Bidders shall be required to comply with all laws pertaining to minimum wage and discrimination of persons.
Parkersburg Utility Board reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and is not necessarily bound to accept the lowest Bid, if that Bid is contrary to the best interest of Parkersburg Utility Board. The Parkersburg Utility Board reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bidding.
