Sealed Bids for the St. Marys High School Demolition will be received by the Pleasants County Board of Education, 202 Fairview Drive, St. Marys, Pleasants County, West Virginia, until 11:00 a.m., L.P.T., on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, for furnishing labor and materials and performing all Work set forth in the Contract Documents prepared by The Thrasher Group, Inc. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids, all proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The approximate quantities of Work to be Bid upon is as described as follows:
All Labor, Equipment and Material required to complete the demolition of the St. Marys High School located in St. Marys, WV. All work is to be completed in accordance with the contract documents.
The Work will be substantially completed within 60 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run, and completed and ready for final payment within 75 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Liquidated damages shall be $750.00 per day.

Complete sets of Bidding Documents may be obtained from the office of The Thrasher Group, Inc., by calling (304) 624-4108 for the following costs:
ó Bidding Documents issued as hard copy drawings and hard copy specifications are available for $50.00 per set.
ó Bidding Documents issued as digital drawings and digital specifications on CD are available for $30.00 per set.
ó Bidding Documents are available by email for no charge.
Amounts paid are not subject to refund.
A two envelope system will be used.
Envelope No. 1 must have the following information presented on the front:
Name and address of Bidder
Bid on Contract: St. Marys High School Demolition
Received by the: Pleasants County Board of Education
Envelope No. 2 labeled âBid Proposalã shall also be placed inside of Envelope #1.
Envelope No. 1 will be opened first and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance as outlined on the Bid Opening Checklist on page BOR – 1 of these contract documents. If such documents are found to be in order, Envelope No. 2 âBid Proposalã, will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order, Envelope No. 2 âBid Proposalã will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder.
A Bidder may not withdraw his Bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of Bids.
Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond payable to the Pleasants County Board of Education, an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the base Bid.
Bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractor’s license on the date of Bid Opening.
Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids will be returned unopened to the Bidders.
The Pleasants County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
A pre-bid conference will be held at the Pleasants County Schools Facilities Offices, 1009 Maple St., St. Marys, WV 26170 on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., L.P.T.
