Notice is hereby given that THE KANAWHA-GAULEY COAL & COKE COMPANY, 811 A MAIN ST E, OAK HILL, WV 25901, has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for an Article 3 permit for the surface disturbance of approximately 18.0 acres in order to construct a haulroad and face up a deep mine in the EagleâKanawha seam of coal.
The proposed operation is discharging into Big Creek of Gauley River of KANAWHA RV, and is located 3.1 miles, northwest of Gauley Bridge in Valley District of Fayette County, Longitude 81° 12 ' 46â and Latitude 38° 12' 39 â.
