NOTICE OF PROPOSED
CONVEYANCE
OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Hopewell United
Methodist Church)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after January 19, 2024 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to the Trustees of Hopewell Community Church all of their right, title and interest in and to those certain tracts or parcels of real estate situate in Union District, Marion County, West Virginia and more particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL ONE
BEGINNING at a white oak on a line of said Bell and running West Six and five tenths poles to a stone South, three degrees E. ten poles to a beech, North, eighty seven E. six and five tenths poles to a Beech, North, one and half degrees West nine and eight ____ tenth poles to the beginning containing ____ perches.
And being the same property conveyed from John Satterfield etux to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church by Deed dated May 27, 1844 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Marion County, West Virginia in Deed Book 2, at Page 173, reference to which is hereby made.
PARCEL TWO
Beginning at a 5/8 inch iron pin found in the line of William Hawkins, and corner to the Grantors herein, thence running with one line of Hawkins, S. 7° 0’ E. 20.18 feet to a point, corner to Hawkins and the Grantees; thence with one line of other property of the Grantees, S. 7° 0’ E. 175.89 feet to a 5/8 inch iron pin set, corner to the Grantors and Grantees; thence with three new division lines through property of the Grantors, N. 87° 40’ 43” W. 90.21 feet to a 5/8 inch iron pin set; thence N. 790 21’ 37”W. 7.22 feet to a 5/8 inch Iron pin set; thence N. 6° 29’ 30” W. 170.77 feet to a 5/8 inch iron pin set in the line of Martin Morgan: thence with one line of Morgan, N. 770 17’ 06° E. 14.53 feet to the place of beginning, containing 0.06 acre, and shown on a map or plat of said real estate attached to this deed and made part hereof.
And being the same property conveyed from Eric F. Heitzman etux to Trustees of the Hopewell United Methodist Episcopal Church by Deed dated May 31, 2007 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 1025, at Page 287, reference to which is hereby made.
Said Hopewell United Methodist Church was declared closed December 31, 2023 by the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
