NOTICE OF PROPOSED
CONVEYANCE
OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Fairview United
Methodist Church)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after January 19, 2024 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to the Trustees of the Fairview Community Church of Bunner Ridge all of their right, title and interest in and to those certain tracts or parcels of real estate situate in Winfield District, Marion County, West Virginia and more particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL ONE
BEGINNING at a stone thence N. 14 W. 9 poles to a stone thence S. 84 W. 7 poles to ____ thence S. 14 E. 9 poles to a maple thence N. 84 E. to the beginning containing 63 poles.
And being the same property conveyed from Joseph Garten etux to the Trustees of the M. E. Church in Winfield Township by Deed dated February 16, 1867 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Marion County, West Virginia in Deed Book 19, at Page 297, reference to which is hereby made.
PARCEL TWO
BEGINNING at a stone by road and running thence N. 11 1/2° W. 2 rods to a stone; thence N. 81 1/2 ° W. 7 rods to a stone; thence S. 11 1/2° E. 1 ½ rods to a stone, and thence S. 82 1/2 ° E. 7 rods to the place of beginning, the said lot or parcel of land hereby conveyed being an addition to the old Fairview M. E. Church lot and adjoining the same on the south.
And being the same property conveyed from Luther W. Summers to Trustees of the Fairview Methodist Episcopal Church by Deed dated October 15, 1913 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 192, at Page 418, reference to which is hereby made.
Said Fairview United Methodist Church was declared closed December 31, 2023 by the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
