NOTICE OF
2nd PUBLIC HEARING
FY 2023 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
The Town of Worthington will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. at Town of Worthington Town Hall, 247 Main Street, P.O. Box 265, Worthington, WV 26591.
On or about April 19, 2024, the Town of Worthington intends to submit an application to the West Virginia Department of Community Advancement and Development (WVCAD) for federal funds under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended for the FY 2023 Community Development Block Grant up to the amount of $3,000,000.
The proposed project will consist of replacing 12,600 LF of 6-inch water mains, 20,000 LF of 2-inch water mains, valves and fire hydrants, pressure reducing stations, and installing leak detection meters.
The purpose of this public hearing is to allow citizens to comment on the proposed project prior to the passage of a resolution authorizing the filing of the application. The application is available for public review and copying, upon request, at the Town of Worthington, 247 Main Street, P.O. Box 265, Worthington, WV 26591.
Written comments will be received until 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 and should be addressed to the Town of Worthington at address listed above.
The Town of Worthington encourages all citizens to attend or provide written comments, especially citizens who are elderly, low income, handicapped or minorities and who live in low-moderate income neighborhoods or live in areas of slums or blight. Special note should be made that this application will compete with other CDBG applications in the State and there is no guarantee of funding.
