SEEKING SEALED BIDS The Putnam County Commission, in cooperation with the West Virginia Conservation Agency (WVCA) is seeking sealed bids from certified contractors with a valid West Virginia contractor’s license to undertake work to reduce flooding potential of the Rock Branch Creek in Poca, WV, starting at a location between Pinecone Drive and Limeberger Creek Road. Work to include but not necessarily be limited to 1) The removal of accumulated debris, snags, sandbars, rocks, and other obstructions, 2) Bank stabilization and repair to prevent future erosion and degradation, 3) Rip rap rock to be placed and keyed, 4) Filter fabric to be installed, 5) Best Management Practices to be observed at all times, 6) Work to be done during low-flow period, 7) Proper sized equipment to be used, 8) No oils to be on site, 9) Maintenance of equipment is not to be done on site, 10) Seed and mulch damaged yards as required. An On-Site, Pre-Bid Conference will be held with the Putnam County Commission and the WVCA on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 10:00 am. The Pre-Bid Conference will begin at 70 Limeberger Creek Road, Poca, WV 25159 and continue along the course of the Rock Branch Creek per the proposed scope of work. All interested contractors or their representatives MUST be present at the Pre-Bid Conference to be eligible to bid. The Office of Planning & Infrastructure reserves the right to reject bids if applicable. Information for bidders such as forms will be available at the Pre-Bid Conference. Sealed bids must be delivered to the Putnam County Offce of Planning and Infrastructure no later than 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2024. Sealed bids will be opened and read at the Putnam County Commission meeting on Thursday, May 16th, 2024, at 9:00 pm at 12093 Winfield Road, Winfield, WV 25213, Room 221.
