West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Public Information Office 601 57th Street SE Charleston, WV 25304 304-926-0440 PUBLIC NOTICE – RECEIPT OF VOLUNTARY REMEDIATION APPLICATION PUBLIC NOTICE NO.: VRP #25021 NEWSPAPER: Herald Dispatch PUBLIC NOTICE DATE: May 27, 2025 Huntington Area Development Council has submitted an application to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) to participate in a voluntary environmental cleanup at the former Huntington East Practice Field under the Voluntary Remediation and Redevelopment Act. The site is located at 7th Avenue/29th Street, Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia, and is approximately 7.16 acres in size. The property was operated as a railyard by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad Company from approximately 1900 through 1972. The Cabell County Board of Education owned the property from approximately 1973 through 2022, during which time it was used as a practice field for the former Huntington East High School. Huntington Area Development Council purchased the property in 2022 and are currently evaluating redevelopment options. Contaminants of potential concern at the site include: Metals, Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), chlorinated solvents and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) at the WVDEP is currently negotiating a Voluntary Remediation Agreement with the applicant to address environmental conditions associated with the site. The agreement includes provisions for assessing potential environmental contaminants; evaluating human health and ecological risks; establishing remediation standards; and, performing any cleanup necessary to meet the standards. At project conclusion, the applicant will submit a Final Report, documenting that all work is complete. NOTICE OF TRUSTEE SALE OF VALUABLE REAL ESTATE Pursuant to the authority vested in the undersigned by Deed of Trust dated the 6th day of October 2020, signed by Vanessa Cook, an unmarried person, to Robert H.
