LEGAL NOTICE Pursuant to WV Code 7-14-9 et seq. and the Kanawha County Deputy Sheriff Civil Service Commission Regulations 6.06, the Kanawha County Deputy Sheriff Civil Service Commission announces an upcoming civil service examination for potential future vacancies in all ranks of the position of Kanawha County Deputy Sheriff. These positions shall be filled by appointment from the list of eligible candidates. To be placed on the list of eligible candidates, one must do the following: 1) Submit an application to Captain C.J. Savilla of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office by no later than Monday, June 23, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Applications are available at the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. 2) Appear and complete the civil service promotion examination for eligible rank. Promotion examinations will be given at the Kanawha County Ambulance Authority Training Room, 601 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia, on June 28, 2025, starting at 8:00 am. 3) A list of eligible candidates for promotion is compiled in ranking order by calculating scores based on seniority, promotional examination, and evaluations. 4) The list of eligible candidates for promotion is good for a period of two years once certified by the Kanawha County Deputy Sheriff Civil Service Commission.
