Invitation to Bid Marshall University, on behalf of the Board of Governors, invites sealed bids to provide all work, including but not limited to labor, materials, equipment, supplies and transportation for R2101923 – Hal Greer Memorial Plaza, at Marshall University, Huntington, WV. The scope of work will include site alterations of existing concrete sidewalk on the northwest side of the Marshall University Cam Henderson Center to create the Hal Greer Memorial Plaza. The project area is approximately 2,000 square feet and work includes selective demolition, removal of existing concrete, base, and subgrade, subgrade preparation for plant beds, and unit pavers, soil preparation, storm drainage, unit paving, cast-in-place concrete footings, and statue base, granite veneer and benches, site furnishings, electrical power connection from the Henderson Center to the Plaza, exterior lighting, and coordination with statue placement. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m., LPT on June 10, 2021, at the Marshall University Henderson Center in the Hartley Room located at 1801 3rd Avenue, Huntington, WV. Attendance is mandatory for General Contractors. Bidders must attend the pre-bid meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions, and other relevant information. Should any Bidder fail to attend their Bid will be disqualified. All technical questions must be submitted in writing to Angela White Negley via email at negley4@marshall.edu by 9:00 a.m., LPT on June 14, 2021. Sealed bids shall be accepted until 3:00 p.m., LPT, on June 24, 2021. The bid opening will be broadcast via a Teams meeting at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/Hal-Greer-Statue-Installation. At that time bids will be opened, read aloud, and recorded in the Office of Purchasing, Room 125, Old Main Building, Marshall University Campus. A $150.00 deposit is required for each set. Marshall University reserves the right to reject any/all bids.
