Public meetings by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection relating to impaired streams in the Tygart Valley Watershed are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., May 18 and 19, 2015.

The May 18 meeting will be at the Elkins Holiday Inn and Suites, 50 Martin Street, Elkins, WV 26241.

The May 19 meeting will be at Tygart Lake State Park, Rt. 1 Box 260, Grafton, WV 26354.

The informational meeting is being held to discuss the current status of Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) development efforts for the Tygart Valley Watershed streams. A TMDL is a plan of action used to clean up streams that are not meeting water quality standards. Information presented will include a discussion of water quality criteria, an overview of the TMDL development process and a schedule for TMDL completion. After the meetings, the DEP will begin making final allocation decisions and the contractor will begin developing the draft TMDL report document.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING To the Citizens of the City of Bluefield; And other interested parties. You are hereby notified and you will please take notice that on May 12, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., the Board of Directors of the City of Bluefield will hold a public hearing on and consider for final adoption an ordinance titled “AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND PART II, CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BLUEFIELD; CHAPTER 8 BUSINESSES AND BUSINESS REGULATIONS; BY THE ADOPTION OF SECTION 8-0, AND THE AMENDMENT TO SECTION 8-4(a).” One of the objects of this Ordinance is to amend and simplify the fees associated with business licensing. The hearing and the final vote will be held in the Director’s Room, 4th Floor, Municipal Complex, Rogers St., Bluefield, West Virginia 24701, at which time and place you may be heard.
