ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Town of Tazewell P.O. Box 608 Tazewell, Virginia 24651 Separate sealed BIDS for the Water Meter Replacement Project for the Town of Tazewell, Virginia which consists of the purchase of the following water meters: 2,183-5/8″ meters, 5-1″ meters, 47-2″ meters, and 3-4″ meters, including 1 handheld data collector and 1 laptop computer will be received by Mr. Todd Day, Town Manager, at the Town of Tazewell Municipal Building, 201 Central Avenue, Tazewell, VA, until 2:00 P.M., local prevailing time, on July 22, 2015 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Copies of the Bid Documents may be obtained from Thompson & Litton at 103 East Main Street, Wise, VA 24293; by writing P.O. Box 1307, Wise, VA 24293-1307; or by calling (276) 328-2161. An electronic copy (CD or download) of the documents may be obtained upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 for each set. A hard copy (including electronic copy) may be obtained upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 for each set. Withdrawal of bids shall be according to procedure (i) of Section 11-54 of the Virginia Public Procurement Act and to the Code of Virginia (? 2.2-4330). Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. This project is being funded by the Virginia Department of Health’s Virginia Water Supply Revolving Loan Fund; as such, Bidder’s must comply with all applicable requirements instituted by the Virginia Department of Health as outlined in the bid package. MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders must comply with the following: the President’s Executive Order # 11246 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex, or national origin; the President’s Executive Orders # 12138 and 11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBE firms; the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, and Section 436 of P. L. 113-76, American Iron and Steel. Bidders must certify that they do not or will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. A competitive Deputy Sheriff Promotional Civil Service Examination for Lieutenants and Captains will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Monongalia County Sheriffs Department, 116 Walnut Street, Morgantown, West Virginia 26505.

Applicants must notify the Monongalia County Clerk by Friday, July 10, 2015, and meet the requirements under West Virginia Code to be scheduled for testing.
