(MEADOW BRIDGE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH)
Notice is hereby given that Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after June 18, 2026, QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to the TRUSTEES OF THE COMMUNITY CHURCH OF MEADOW BRIDGE all of their right, title and interest in and to the following described parcels of real estate situate in Meadow Bridge Corp. District, Fayette County, West Virginia, and bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL ONE
ALL the lot and improvements thereon heretofore known as "METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH PROPERTY", consisting of the following lot together with church building thereon, improvements thereupon, appurtenances thereunto and furnishings therein with the exception of a stove, which lot is bounded as follows:
BEGINNING, at a stone on the west side of the Lick Creek Road running N. 23 1/2 W. with county road 12 poles to a stake, thence S. 73 1/2 W. 7 poles to a stake, thence S. 25 1/2 E. 12 poles to a stake, thence N. 73 1/2 E. 7 poles to the beginning.
And being the same property conveyed from C. B. Gwinn and Goldie L. Gwinn, his wife to J.E. Bruce, Lonzo Gwinn, J. F. Hendrick, C. C. Rose, J.M. Holiday, George Masters, and Lon Farren, as Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South of Meadow Bridge by Deed dated February 28, 1936, and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Fayette County, West Virginia in Deed Book 82, at Page 73, reference to which is hereby made.
PARCEL TWO
BEGINNING at a stake at the southern most point of a forty foot street leading from the Lick Creek road and running by the north of the Montrado Church line and 215 feet from the northwest corner of said church lot; thence N. 65-50 E. 20 feet to a stake, corner to said street and a twenty foot alley, thence with said alley S. 24-01 E. 200 feet to a stake on said alley, thence with said alley S. 23-10 E. 100.02 feet to a stake on said alley, thence S. 64-15 W. 561.9 feet to a stake on the old Sweetwood-Twohig line, thence N. 43-38 W. 225.9 feet to a stake set a the Sweetwood-Twohig comer at a fallen white oak, thence 617 1/2 feet to the beginning, containing 3.58 acres, more or less.
PARCEL THREE
BEGINNING at a stake at comer to Church Street and a twenty foot alley, thence N. 74-30 W. running with said street 108.5 feet to a stake, thence S. 14-30 W. 42 feet to a stake, thence S. 21 E. 54.6 feet to a stake on a line of said J. A. Sheaves, N. F. Fleshman and Laura Fleshman, thence with said Sheaves, Fleshman N. 56 E. 111 feet to the beginning, containing .13 of an acre.
PARCEL FOUR
BEGINNING at a stake on road leading to Patten Cemetery; fifteen feet (15ft) from comer of Meadow Bridge Methodist Church Lot and running parallel with driveway leading to Parsonage 15 feet from Church Lot; S. 24-10 E. 200 ft. to a stake; S. 65-59 W. 160 feet to a stake at street; thence N. 24-10 (formerly erroneously called "24-1") W. 200 feet to a stake at the comer of street and road leading to Patton Cemetery; thence N. 65-59 E. 160 feet to the beginning, containing approximately 32,000 square feet.
And being the same property conveyed to MEADOW BRIDGE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, from QUINTEN GARRY BRAGG and NANCY M. BRAGG, his wife, by Deed dated July 16, 2002 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk's Office in Deed Book 589, at Page 310, reference by which is hereby made.
The above Quitclaim of Parcels One, Three and Four is subject to an easement or right of way which was conveyed to the Lockbridge/Green Valley Charge from the board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church containing 0.106 acre or 4,611 square feet by Deed dated December 26, 2025 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk's Office in Deed Book 882, at Page 431, reference to which is hereby made for a description of said easement or right of way, and there is also Quitclaimed the right to use said easement or right of way.
Said Meadow Bridge United Methodist Church was declared closed effective on November 21, 2024 by a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
