NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS – Helicopter trimming trees

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the Bancroft-Poca portion of its 12kV distribution system in Putnam County, WV.  On or about June 29th, 2022, a helicopter will begin trimming trees away from power lines.  A ground crew will follow up to remove tree trimmings from streams, roads and maintained areas.  In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, trimmings will remain on site so as to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation.

Rights-of-way in this area expected to be all or partially involved in the program are:  Heizer Creek, Midway Rd., Manila Creek, Crosscut Lane, Richard Dr., Hidden Farms, Dickerson Hollow, Spanish Oak Branch, Clear Fork, and Kelly’s Creek Rd./Clay Lick Branch.

Company representatives will be present at the time of the aerial saw work.  Specifics regarding your property may be discussed at that time.  If you are a nonresident property owner and have questions regarding our right-of-way maintenance, they may be directed to:
