ENACTING AND ADOPTING WV

AUTHORITY TO PERMIT PARKING ON MAIN STREET
Be it resolved that the Common Council for the Town of Franklin, County of Pendleton, State of West Virginia, does hereby permit the parking of vehicles on Main Street (US Route 220) in accordance with the Authority to Permit Parking issued by the West Virginia Department of Highways (Permit# 36-001-2019), the aforesaid permit being included in this ordinance as exhibit #1.
The above ordinance will come before the Town Council of the Municipality of Franklin on September 10, 2019 at 6:00pm at the Town Hall for a final vote. Copies of the Ordinance can be requested at the Town Office Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.

Under the provisions of Chapter 17C, Article 2, Section 8b of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, the Commission of Highways hereby authorizes, subject to the conditions and restrictions set forth herein, and except where prohibited in accordance with Chapter 17C, Article 13, Section 3 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, parking upon a state highway as follows:

The local authority is required to cause the above-described portion of highway to be properly marked and signed for parking in the manner provided in the Official State Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
This permit is revocable upon thirty days notice by the Commission of Highways if in his opinion highway safety or the movement of traffic require such revocation.
