PUBLIC NOTICE
The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from the Wheeling Park Commission to renovate the Wilson Lodge entrance and restaurants, and restore a greenhouse for new use, at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), EDA is conducting an assessment of the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties.
The project includes significant updates and accessibility upgrades to the Lodge’s front entrance and drive, and to its two restaurants. Foods including vegetables and fish will be grown for the restaurants’ use in a new farm-to-table operation that will be created in the restored greenhouse. The project will be located at Oglebay Park’s Wilson Lodge at 465 Lodge Drive, and in one of the greenhouses located adjacent to the Welcome Center on the Oglebay Hilltop. Comments received in the EDA Regional Office by 5:00 pm eastern on April 8 will be considered. A copy of the NEPA/NHPA decisional document will be available upon request at the above EDA Regional Office.
