NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Orlena United Methodist Church)

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after November 16, 2023 QUITCLAIM, GRANT AND CONVEY to the Trustees of Orlena Global Methodist Church all of their right, title, and interest, in and to those certain tracts or parcels of land situate in Leadsville District, Randolph County, West Virginia, and more particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit:

PARCEL ONE
BEGINNING at South East fence corner post, of the Southern present line running West to East between the land of the parties of the first part, and said Church lot land, to said beginning post, and running in a direct line with said line fence beginning post, 34 1/2 feet East to a post, thence North 182 feet to the Paul W. Peters, line, Thence West 34 1/2 feet along the said Peters line, to the old original line between the said parties of the first part and the parties of the second part, thence south along said line 182 feet to the beginning. However, the parties of the first part, reserves the land contained in a 16 feet right of way 34 1/2 feet in length running West to East and East to West, on present Right of way site, joining up the right of way, conveyed by the Trustees of said Orlena Church, to the said parties of the first part, Vis: on the North side of said Church lot, along or near the said Paul W. Peters, line on the present right of way, East and West 16 feet wide, and running a uniform width from the main highway at the front thereof to the right of way East, and of the said parties of the first part, which has been reserved as aforesaid and making a through right of way complete, to the lands of the parties of the first part, which gives access to the lands at the rear thereof. And land so conveyed in this deed contains 1/ 10 acre more or less.

And being the same property conveyed from O. B. Collins etux to the Trustees of the Orlena Methodist Episcopal Church by Deed dated August 9, 1957 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Randolph County, West Virginia in Deed Book ___, at Page ____, reference of which is hereby made.

PARCEL TWO
BEGINNING at a point in the eastern right of way line 30 feet east of the center line of Route U. S. 219, and running with said right of way line N. 1* 10′ E. 35.53 feet to a point in the property line of a lot of the Orlena Methodist Church at its intersection with said right of way line; thence with that property line S. 87* 27′ E. 239.13 feet to a stake; thence N. 0* 18′ H. l79.93′ with said property line to its corner in the property line of Paul Peters and Madalyn Peters; thence with the fence in the Peter’s property line S. 86* 36 1/2′ E. 110.86 feet to a fence corner; thence with the Peters property line S. 3* 58 1/2′ W. 47.75 feet to a fence corner; thence with the fence on the Peter’s property line N. 84* 58 1/2′ 559.35 feet to Leading Creek; thence down Leading Creek two courses, S. 11* 10′ w. 55.35 feet to a stake and S. 32* 50′ W. 303.20 feet to a stake on the southern side of a drainage ditch at its confluence with Leading Creek; thence along the southern side of said ditch and through a swampy area to a stake in a fence S. 85* 59′ W. 489.36 feet; thence with said fence N. 12* 00′ E. l4O.9 feet to a stake; thence N. 88* 50′ W. 272.03 feet to the point of beginning, containing. 4.l8 acres, more or less

And being the same property conveyed from Charles N. Meadows etux to Trustees of the Orlena Methodist Church by Deed dated January 1, 2008 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 233, at Page 350, reference to which is hereby

PARCEL THREE
BEGINNING in a fence corner in the PL between the Charles N and Minnie L. Meadows land and Irvin Phares; thence S 3* 10′ W. 202.5 with a fence to the corner of the cemetery; thence S 84* 40′ E. 267.5′ with a fence down the hill to the edge of bottom land to a fence; thence N 5* 20′ E 251′ on a new line to the southern boundary of a 12′ driveway or access road; thence with said boundary S 8O* 44′ E. 504′ to the R/W line of U.S. Highway 219 to a fence and a gate; thence N 6* 07′ E 12′ to a concrete R/W monument in the PL of said access road and U.S. Highway 219 and bounded on the North by the Donald Vanscoy property; thence N 80* 44 W 513′ along the northern boundary of the access road and following a fence in the Donald Vanscoy line to the Irvin Phares line and with that said fence along the access road to a corner in the fence; thence S 67* 41′ W 133′ with the fence to a corner; thence with a fence N 81* 59′ W 147′ to the point of beginning.

And being the same property conveyed from Charles N. Meadows etux to Trustees of the Orlena United Methodist Church by Deed dated February 26th, 1970 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 264, at Page 586, reference to which is hereby made.

PARCEL FOUR
BEGINNING at corner 1 on the plat attached to and made a part of this description, a found 2 inch pipe, corner to the Phares parent tract (Deed Book 206, Page 611) and Jones (Deed Book 425, rage 739), thence leaving Jones through the parent tract for four new lines

N 06-36 E 3.08 feet to corner 2, a set 5/8 inch by 36 inch rebar with cap, thence

S 77-55 E 8.87 feet to corner 3, a set 5/8 inch by 36 inch rebar with cap, thence

N 10-29 E 76.57 feet to corner 4, a set 5/8 inch by 36 inch rebar with cap, thence

S 77-23 E 3.40 feet to corner 5, a found 1/2 inch galvanized pipe with cap, corner to Phares and Godwin (Deed Book 337, Page 49), thence with Godwin

S 77-23 E 251.75 feet to corner 6, corner to Gilman Cemetery (Deed Book 264, Page 586) in line of Godwin, from which a wood gatepost bears S 60-55 E 7.94 feet, a found 3/4 inch iron pipe bears S 17-26 E 15.40 feet, and a found concrete right of way monument on the western edge of U.S. Rt. 219 bears 5 77-23 H 513,00 feet, thence leaving. 219 bears S 77-23 E 513,00 feet thence leaving Godwin with the Gilman Cemetery

S 69-43 W 136.89 feet to corner 7, an oak hub in an old fence post hole, thence

N 79-29 N 146.00 feet to the beginning;

Containing 14,960 square feet or 0.34 acre, more or less, as surveyed by Donald L. Teter.

And being the same property conveyed from Luke Poore etux to Trustees of the Orlena United Methodist Church by Deed dated July 19th, 2000 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 597, at Page 64, reference to which is hereby made.

SAID Orlena United Methodist Church was declared closed effective September 11, 2023 by a vote of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
