WOODLANDS DEVELOPMENT GROUP
REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SERVICES SUBMISSIONS DUE:
4 P.M., FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2023

I. Introduction

Woodlands Development Group, a non-profit housing and community development corporation based in Elkins, WV, is seeking a qualifications package and expression of interest from Architectural firms to provide design services on two separate projects – one located at 242 Spruce St, Thomas, WV; and one located at 193 Main St. Parsons, WV. Woodlands may award both projects to the same design team, or award these projects separately. The activities include working with Woodlands and partners to gather input, to complete an approved multiuse site, architectural, and engineering design for construction.

II. Project Description

The proposed project at 242 Spruce St. Thomas, WV will be a 3-story mixed use structure, with 10 housing units, and a first floor collaborative workspace, located on a 0.28 acre lot. This federally funded project will feature two 2-bedroom, six 1-bedroom, and 2 efficiency housing units.

The proposed project at 193 Main Street, Parsons, WV will also be a 3-story mixed use structure with 8 housing units, and 1 first floor commercial space on a 0.1 acre parcel. The project will feature six 1-bedroom and two 2-bedroom housing units and 1 commercial space.

Woodlands is requesting proposals for the completion of a conceptual design and construction drawings for each project.

III. Preparation of Proposals

Qualified firms are invited to submit a Statement of Interest and Qualifications outlining their experience and qualifications. Solicitation details and submission instructions may be obtained by emailing Dustin Smith, Director of Project Development, at [email protected].

Proposals will be received until 4:00 P.M. on Friday, December 8, 2023. Submissions will not be accepted after the stated closing date and time.

Woodlands reserves the right to (1) Reject and or all submissions deemed incomplete or unsuitable for the City’s needs and to (2) select the proposal which is deemed to be in the best interest of the project after the review process is complete. Small, minority, and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit a proposal.
