Investigation and suspension of increase in
water rates and charges as a result of petitions
filed in accordance with W.Va. Code Section 24-2-4b.
NOTICE OF HEARING
On October 3, 2023, the Town of Harman (Harman) adopted increased water rates increasing the rates about 37.51 %.
On October 30, 2023, the Commission received a protest petition signed by no less than 25% of Harman’s water customers. The Commission suspended the water rates, referred the matter and established a Staff report due date. The Commission also published notice of the Order.
The matter has been set for hearing on December 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at the Harman Fire Department, Water Street, Harman. Interested individuals may appear at the hearing and be heard regarding the proposed rate increase. Individuals may also provide written public comment to the Commission by mailing such comment to the Executive Secretary, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, WV 25323 and refer to Case No. 23-0845-W-MA.
