NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Whitmer United Methodist Church)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after April 4, 2024 QUITCLAIM, GRANT AND CONVEY to the Trustees of Whitmer Community Church all of their right, title, and interest, in and to those certain tracts or parcels of land situate in Dry Fork District, Randolph County, West Virginia, and more particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL ONE
Being 8 feet of the Northern part of Lot #62, Block #13 and 32 feet of the Southern part of Lot #61 Block #13, fronting along Railroad Avenue a distance of 40 feet with a depth of 100 feet. Being a part of the same 4 lots and. part of another lot purchased by Josephine White from Stellman Teter on May 28, 1955, and. being of record in Deed Book 200 page 207. Further reference is made of said lots in Deed, Book 191 Page 518. Plat of the Town of Whitmer is recorded in Deed Book 55, Page 35l.
And being the same property conveyed from Josephine White and Glen White to the Trustees of the Whitmer Methodist Church by Deed dated April 1, 1958 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Randolph County, West Virginia in Deed Book 212, at Page 243, reference of which is hereby made.
PARCEL TWO
Being Lot 62 in Block 13 in Whitmer Corporation on which is located the H. H. Hoffman Building about 14 feet south of the Methodist Church lot, 60 feet east of Railroad Avenue; said lot being 40 feet wide and extending back 100 feet in a uniform width to the alley.
And being the same property conveyed from Harold Sites etux to Trustees of the Methodist Church of Whitmer by Deed dated June ____, 2007 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 522, at Page 148, reference to which is hereby made.
SAID Whitmer United Methodist Church was declared closed effective February 5, 2024 by a vote of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
