Notice is hereby given that Roaring Creek Coal Company LLC, 109 Appalachian Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 66.26 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416-1600, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O202010 to construct, operate, maintain, and monitor a coal preparation plant and a rail loadout in the N/A seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Unnamed tributary of/and Brook Run of Laurel Creek of Middle Fork River of Tygart Valley River; Hell Run and Devil Run of Middle Fork River of Tygart Valley River of Monongahela River and is located 5.4 miles northwest of Mabie in Roaring Creek District of Randolph County, Longitude 80 degrees 03’41” and Latitude 38 degrees 55’41” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until July 6, 2024 or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until July 6, 2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
