Notice is hereby given that Carter Roag Coal Company, 109 Appalachian Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 127 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416-1600, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O200219 to operate and maintain a haulroad in the N/A seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Beech Run of/and Left Fork Buckhannon River of Buckhannon River of Tygart Valley River of Monongahela River and is located 3.4 miles southeast of Helvetia in Middle Fork District of Randolph County, Longitude 80 deg 08′ 23″ and Latitude 38 deg 41′ 27″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until November 15, 2024 or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until November 15, 2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
