Notice is hereby given that Carter Roag Coal Company, 109 Appalachian Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 248.51 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416-1600, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O003185 to monitor, maintain, and operate a coal refuse disposal area in the N/A seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Left Fork of Buckhannon River; Dry Run of Left Fork of Buckhannon River; Left Fork of Unnamed Tributary of Left Fork of Buckhannon River all of Tygart Valley River of Monongahela River and is located 4.3 miles east of Helvetia in Middle Fork District of Randolph County, Longitude 80 degrees 06′ 50″ and Latitude 38 degrees 42′ 40″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
