Town of Coalton Water System Monitoring Reporting
Requirements not met.
Our water system violated a state drink water requirement. Even though these were not emergencies, you as a customer have a right to know what happened and what we did to correct the situation.
1) Required Lead and Copper Sample Results Not Submitted. (December 2023)
The Coalton Water Department began testing customers drinking water for lead in fall of 2023. However, the Town failed to complete the required Lead Sampling Plan and have it approved by the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health (WVBPH) before testing began. A plan was developed and approved by the WVBPH in December 2023. Since that time, the Town has tested water for lead twice in 2024. All tests for lead concentration in the drink water were below the 15 mg/l action level.
Detailed reports of these deficiencies will be mailed to each customer and posted at the Town Post Office. For more information about these deficiencies, please contact Mayor Jim Rossi at PO Box 189, Coalton WV 26257 (304) 636-3267.
