Water Treatment Services

The Mercer County Board of Education, Princeton, WV, is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to provide water treatment and testing services for buildings owned by the Mercer County Board of Education. The water treatment program is to include all boiler systems, cooling towers, chillers, water loops, condensate lines and tanks, and other systems identified by our maintenance department. Services shall be provided as set forth in the proposal specifications and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The qualified vendor shall provide a minimum of three references of similar work and have a minimum of five years' experience with similar projects. No proposal may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of proposals for at least ninety days. Other requirements are detailed in the proposal package. Proposals will be opened on December 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., conference room, Mercer County Board of Education, 1403 Honaker Avenue, Princeton, WV 24740. The Mercer County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informality in proposal responses. PRE-ADOPTION NOTICE OF ORDINANCE INCREASING WATER RATES TOWN OF NUTTER FORT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice if hereby given that the Town of Nutter Fort, a municipal corporation, will hold a hearing before the final vote on a proposed ordinance, the principal object of which is the enactment of increases to the water rates for customers of the water distribution system of Nutter Fort. The title of the ordinance is “AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF NUTTER FORT, WEST VIRGINIA, AMENDING THE SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE SERVICES AND FACILITIES FURNISHED FOR THE CUSTOMERS OF THE WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF THE TOWN OF NUTTER FORT BY INCREASING THE RATES AND CHARGES BY THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW RATES AND CHARGES”. The Town of Nutter Fort is adopting the proposed increased rates due to the City of Clarksburg increasing the rate by which Nutter Fort purchases water annually and due to an increase in the operation and maintenance expenses of the water system The changes to the rates and charges being proposed, generally being a percentage increase of 12.75%, are necessary in order to offset Clarksburg’s increase in the rate it sells water to Nutter Fort and due to an increase in the operation and maintenance expenses of the water system. The Town is proposing that the new rates become effective for all bills rendered 45 days after enactment of the Ordinance. The proposed rate increases are as follows: SCHEDULE I APPLICABILITY Applicable within the entire territory served. AVAILABILITY Available for general domestic, commercial and industrial service (I) RATES (I) First 2,000 gallons used per month $ 17.93 per 1,000 gallons (I) Next 3,000 gallons used per month $ 16.74 per 1,000 gallons (I) Next 15,000 gallons used per month $ 12.27 per 1,000 gallons (I) All over 20,000 gallons used per month $10.77 per 1,000 gallons (I) MINIMUM CHARGE No bill will be rendered for less than the following amounts, according to the size of the meter, to-wit: 5/8 x 3/4 inch meter $ 35.86 per month 3/4 inch meter $ 53.79 per month 1 inch meter $ 89.65 per month 1- 1⁄2 inch meter $ 179.30 per month 2 inch meter $ 286.88 per month 3 inch meter $ 573.76 per month 4 inch meter $ 896.50 per month 6 inch meter $ 1,793.00 per month LEAK ADJUSTMENT $4.96 per 1,000 gallons is to be used where a bill reflects unusual consumption which can be attributed to eligible leakage on the customer’s side of the meter. This rate shall be applied to all such consumption above the customer’s historical average usage. (I) Indicates increase in rates SCHEDULE II APPLICABILITY Applicable within the entire territory served. AVAILABILITY Available for resale customers. (I) RATES $7.77 per 1,000 gallons used per month (I) Indicates increase in rates. The final vote on adoption of said proposed ordinance shall take place during a Council Meeting in the Council Chambers, located in the Police/Fire Department Building, Nutter Fort, WV, on December 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. Interested parties may appear and be heard at such time with respect to the passage of the proposed ordinance.
